Researchers have invented a new method for help color LED large-scale industrialized production

An international research team in the United States "scientific progress" magazine reported that they invented a new simple and economical method, semiconductor nanocrystals can make different size according to the need, help to achieve the next generation of color light emitting diode (LED) of mass production.

Researchers at the University of Munich in Germany and other institutions that used for semiconductor light-emitting diodes, in the nanometer scale, change the semiconductor crystal size, which allows them to emit light of different colors, ranging from blue to red light emitting visible light, high color purity.

The researchers developed a way to use low cost materials according to the production method of perovskite semiconductor crystal size requirements. The core is a piece of only a few nanometers thick film die, which is composed of nano porous material containing silica and alumina, above the micropores can act as chemical reaction vessels, raw material solution reaction in the pore formation of perovskite nanocrystals.

Experimental results show that the microporous film die directly affects the size of the size of the nanocrystals, which determines the luminous color. With this method the preparation of nano crystal is very stable, can achieve high fidelity color light emitting diode.

The researchers said that they will further improve the method of production efficiency, and expand the scope of application, such as the production of flexible color display.
