Revenue is 6 billion 250 million yuan! American lighting company Acuity Brands announced 2018 Q3

Yesterday, American lighting company Acuity Brands announced the third quarter financial report of the 2018 fiscal year.

In the third quarter of 2018, the net sales of Acuity Brands were $944 million (about $6 billion 250 million), up 5.9% from $891 million 600 thousand (about 5 billion 900 million yuan) in the same period last year. Operating profits were $105 million 900 thousand (about $700 million), a decrease of $25 million 600 thousand, or 19.5%, over the same period last year. Net income was $73 million (about $480 million), a decrease of $9 million 200 thousand, or 11.2%, compared with the same period last year. After the dilution, the earnings per share ("RPS") was $1.80 (about 11.9 yuan), a year-on-year decline of $0.10 or 5.3%, compared with $1.90 in the same period last year.

Vernon J. Nagel, chairman, President and CEO of Acuity Brands, said: "our third quarter was robust, especially in the context of the challenging lighting market. Our net sales increased by nearly 6% in the third quarter, mainly due to the increased shipments of Atrius lamps and the increase in product shipments of infrastructure and utility projects, partly offset by the decline in net sales of large commercial projects.

"The third quarter profitability measures were negatively affected by the price of product and the combination of sales products, and the negative impact of the increase in the cost of sales, distribution and management. This quarter, we have taken a series of measures to improve our profitability, including the reintroduction of our Contractor Select product portfolio at a competitive price to compete in this market. In addition, we have taken action to strengthen some of the facilities. Finally, we are pleased to welcome the employees of the recently acquired IOTA engineering company, whose industry leading technology, coupled with its excellent customer service, will further enhance Acuity's market position in emergency lighting and equipment. "

For the coming year, the chief executive Vernon J. Nagel expects the North American lighting market to improve.

"Third party forecasts and leading indicators show that the main market of the company - the demand for the North American lighting market will be moderately improved by the second half of 2018," Nagel said in a press statement.

After the announcement, the stock of Acuity Brands rose by more than 10%. (Editor: LED network James)
