SIEMENS has no plans to sell its stake in OSRAM

OSRAM said that this investment will be able to enhance the company's visibility in the lighting products market, including residential lighting lamps and other products, OSRAM also hope by setting up new factory, competition and Chinese manufacturers.

Although in the car and other niche markets can lead other manufacturers and profit, but OSRAM believes that the growth of the car market is not large enough, and I believe the company should be more deep in the growth of a larger market visibility. OSRAM said that as of 2020, the general lighting market is expected to grow by 9.5% per year, compared with the growth of car lighting in the past few years, much less than the number of 4%.

However, some shareholders hold the opposite view of OSRAM, some shareholders believe that after OSRAM will be the general cause of the spin off, only need to focus on the development of high profit niche market.

OSRAM shares held up to 18% of SIEMENS in December 2015 publicly stated that OSRAM's new strategy prior knowledge. Although SIEMENS is unhappy with OSRAM's share price, it has no plans to sell shares. For OSRAM's proposed strategy also expressed no comment.

OSRAM CEO Olaf Berlien pointed out that the company has been in close contact with existing and potential investors to communicate the dynamics of the new strategy, and OSRAM believes that shareholders will support this trend.

At the same time, the continued loss of general lighting work has also made progress, is expected to have a lot of bids from Chinese manufacturers, and the transaction is also looking at 500 million euros (NT $17 billion).
