Samsung set up a new production line to accelerate the standardization process of large panels

Samsung said the day before, given the strong LCD TV market growth, plans to set up a seventh generation panel production line for the production of 40 inch and 46 inch panel, in order to speed up the 40 and 46 inch LCD panel standardization process, and further consolidate the status of the world's largest LCD panel suppliers.

The company plans to major equipment, this week to install the LCD panel production line new required after the completion, the glass substrate will be produced with the S-LCD factory (Samsung joint venture with SONY panel production plant) the same specifications are 1870 x 2200 mm, then, will be able to cut out the 8 pieces or 40 inch panel 6 pieces of 46 inch panel from 1 pieces of substrate.

The new production line covers an area of 300 thousand square meters, of which construction area of 93 thousand square meters, with a total investment of $975 million, and is expected to be completed in April next year.
