Samsung to build a seven generation LCD production line production in April next year

In view of the strong growth of the LCD TV LCD panel market, the world's largest supplier of Samsung Electronics announced last week, the latest seventh generation LCD production line 7-2 formally completed the key equipment required for installation of production, after a series of production test, in April next year and put into production, the expected maximum monthly capacity of 45 thousand.

This production line covers an area of about 300 thousand square meters, with a total investment of up to 1 trillion won (about $975 million). It will be used to manufacture 40 inch and 46 inch LCD panels, the same as the previous S-LCD plant, which is a joint venture between Samsung and SONY.

It is understood that the mass production of large screen LCD panel factory in S-LCD after the seventh generation LCD production line 7-1 has successfully achieved 1870 * 2200mm specifications, so Samsung has in large LCD panel supply market and large screen LCD TV standard competition in the market to occupy a dominant position.

From the production of a single panel, the new production line will be able to cut out 8 pieces of the specification of 1870 x 2200mm or 6 inch panel of 40 inches panel. This cutting technique can be used to produce 40 inch and 46 inch large screen LCD TV panels, but also cost savings.
