Sapphire Rubicon appoints new chief operating officer

The United States LED sapphire substrate manufacturers Rubicon Technology (Rubicon Technology) announced the appointment of Henry Tamim (Hany Tamim) as chief operating officer (Chief Operating Officer, referred to as COO). Tamim will be responsible for the global manufacturing operations. Tamim will work in Malaysia, and report directly to the chief executive officer (Bill Weissman). The role of chief operating officer is a combination of two senior management positions, which will lead to a more cohesive and more economical manufacturing performance.

Tamim in the United States and Malaysia have accumulated rich management experience of crystal growth and wafer fabrication, including in the predecessor of Sino German electronic materials company MEMC materials company (SunEdison) for 24 years, then the global leading post project cost management, plant management and process engineering etc.. He completed his master's degree at the University of North carolina.
