Saudi Arabia issued new regulations on lighting products in May 1st

Lighting products exported to Saudi Arabia, the country's LED manufacturers have paid attention to! According to the division of testing revealed that in February 10, 2016, the Saudi standard measurement quality organization and the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center issued a new technical regulations for lighting products. This method is called "SASO2870/2015 - energy efficiency, function and labeling requirements for lighting products". This regulation applies to foreign and domestic lighting products, effective in May 1, 2016.

It is reported that the technical regulation of the product contains a luminous flux between 60-12000 lumens of directional and non directional incandescent lamp, halogen lamp, self ballasted fluorescent lamps (energy-saving lamps), light-emitting diode (LED) lamps and other lighting products.

The SASO2870/2015 specifies the requirements for energy efficiency, functionality, labels, hazardous chemicals, and energy efficiency labels for statutory lighting products. From May 1, 2016 onwards, all within the control range of lighting products, when shipped to the customs, customs clearance will be investigated whether the lighting products to do energy efficiency certification and affixed with the energy efficiency labeling.
