Seoul is expected in 2014 the public sector will install 800 thousand LED lights

According to South Korea, the South Korean capital of Seoul has announced plans to invest more LED lamps installed in public places, and encourage the private sector to further expand the scope of installation. Public places, including subway stations and streets, plans to 2018 the city government office all use LED lighting, in order to reduce energy consumption and help LED lighting industry.

The Seoul government also said it plans to expand to the private sector in 2030, estimated that in 2014 about 800 thousand LED lights will be installed in the public sector, in addition to the 70 thousand LED lights installed in the private sector, according to estimates of the city of Seoul, which will save power 1100000 trillion watt or 120 billion won for each year in Seoul ($105 million). The municipal government also plans to build an intelligent lighting grid with 1 million 320 thousand energy-saving streetlights by 2014. To encourage the installation of the private sector, the city will provide a maximum of 1 billion won ($870 thousand) interest rate of the loan program of up to 2.5%.
