Seoul semiconductor wins patent infringement lawsuit against LED lighting products sellers in the US

Yesterday (20), Seoul semiconductor (KOSDAQ 046890) announced that it had won the United States federal court's successful judgment in the patent infringement lawsuit against Philcor TV & Electronic Leasing, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "Philcor"), a distributor of LED lighting products in the United States.

In the course of the proceedings, Philcor gave up arguing about the infringement of the product patent and the patent validity of Seoul semiconductor. At the same time, it indicated that Seoul semiconductor Acrich MJT (above 6V high voltage chip), high voltage driving technology (Acrich Driver), LED filament lamp, LED package, LED epitaxial wafer growth and LED chip were also put forward. Manufacturing and other patented technologies should be respected. At the same time, the two sides reached a settlement, which was compensated by Philcor for the losses suffered by Seoul semiconductor because of its infringement and paid royalties.

In addition to the winning case, Seoul semiconductor has many patent infringement lawsuits in progress, all of which are aimed at preventing patent infringement products from circulating in the LED lighting market.

For example, in March 2nd, Seoul semiconductor filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Service Lighting Electrical Supplies, Inc., the operator of 1000bulbs.com, the largest online sales platform of LED lamps in the federal court of northern Texas, claiming that it infringed 10 LED patents.

In May 8th this year, Seoul semiconductor filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., a large seller of 1550 stores in the US California, claiming that it infringed 8 LED patents. Seoul semiconductor said in its complaint that all kinds of lighting products, including products produced by Feit Electric, are all infringing products.

In recent August, Seoul semiconductor filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Fry s electronics, a large US appliance seller in the federal court of Eastern Texas, claiming that Fry "s Electronics" infringed 15 patents of Seoul semiconductor. The 15 patents included KSF high resolution and optical lens technology, LED backlight system, LED backlight lens, U CD technology and related technologies, KSF high resolution technology is a technology that makes high color reproduction of LCD display such as TV, smart phone and so on.

In addition, Seoul semiconductor has continuously issued notices to many international LED lighting enterprises and distributors, asking them to stop using patent infringing products.

According to the vice president of Ki Bum Nam, Seoul semiconductor lighting division, "in order to create a respectful and fair competition culture, we must take positive preventive measures to prevent manufacturers and sellers from producing or selling patent infringement products. Only when intellectual property rights are respected can we create a vibrant, fair and equitable culture so that young people and small and medium enterprises will be able to achieve social mobility and growth. This is one of the values pursued by Seoul semiconductor.
