Singapore land exchange: 2022 will be replaced before the national street lamp LED

Singapore's land transport authority plans to be replaced by the island before the 2022 street for more energy saving LED street lights, and the use of a new remote monitoring system, according to weather conditions switch street lights.

According to Singapore LTA issued a proclamation, LED (Light Emitting Diodes) compared with the general lighting lamps currently in use, can save about 25% energy. Singapore land transport bureau pointed out that LED street lamp is more reliable, replacement frequency is also low, help to save energy and reduce manpower and maintenance costs.

Singapore authorities have launched two pilot projects in some areas to test high power and general power LED street lamp. Since 2013, some areas of street lights into LED street lamp, has been installed for about 4000 street lamps LED lamps.

Singapore government street lamp replacement plan in three phases:

The first phase will cover 500 low traffic and residential roads, which are scheduled to be completed by 2018. The second phase, which is concentrated in the central region, is expected to be completed by 2019. In the third phase, the replacement of the rest of the road is expected to be completed by 2022.

Singapore government will tender for the second phase plan. The central area of about 25 thousand street lamps will switch to high power LED lamp, the rest of the road will switch to the general power of LED lamps. Interested companies may be concerned about the Singapore government tender information.

Singapore land exchange will also be in 2022 before the start of the use of a new street lamp remote monitoring system. The system is currently in use as a preset system, and the time of the street lamp switch is set in accordance with the sunrise and sunset time.

With the new system, Singapore LTA can switch according to the demand of street lighting remote control lights of different start lamps for example encountered bad weather conditions such as haze.

The new system will also have automatic fault detection and alarm functions. In the event of any failure, the Singapore land exchange will be notified immediately and sent to repair to improve efficiency.

Said Singapore LTA spokesman by the Advisory, in different locations, including the entrance road, Hong Kong Sheng Jurong East Road, Bedok North Road and Punggol Road 4 launched a pilot program for the new system. "The results show that the system's real-time fault detection, notification, and remote control functions are in line with the requirements of the. "

Singapore land exchange will take the lead in the central region of the new system, and then extended to other areas.

Singapore land exchange bureau will also cooperate with the Government Bureau of science and Technology (GovTech) to carry out the concept of verification, to explore the possibility of remote monitoring system as a shared public infrastructure.

The Singapore government science and Technology Bureau will use the system as a shared communications gateway to collect and transmit data from other public agencies in the low bandwidth data (low bandwidth sensor), which is expected to improve the efficiency of the public sector.

Most of the data collected and transmitted by concept verification are environmental data, such as water level, water flow rate, temperature and humidity.

A government spokesman said: "the government will optimize and coordinate the use of its facilities, and explore other ways to share the resources of public institutions to effectively improve the smart city services. "
