South Korea to become the world's second largest producer of LED

The South Korean Ministry of knowledge economy said, although later to enter the LED market, but South Korea in a short period of time from 2009 Fourth of the global catch up from behind, to second in the world, plays an important role in the global LED market.

Since 2008, the South Korean government has been supporting emerging industries, accelerate the penetration of LED lighting in the home, business and public sectors and other fields. Public institutions lighting systems, LED lighting accounted for 8%. For traffic lights, more than 90% are LED lights.

To further promote the popularity of LED lighting, South Korea has introduced subsidies for LED bulbs. The government plans to strive to increase the penetration rate of LED lighting to 60% by 2020, from the beginning of 2014 to prohibit the production and sale of incandescent lamps.
