Special lighting layout of the next city, OSRAM acquisition of LED Engin Inc.

OSRAM 6 issued a press release, the company is located in San Jose, California in the United States will acquire LED Engin Inc. supplier LED. LED Engin has nearly 30 employees, annual sales of about $10 million, focused on providing for solid state lighting to lighting, entertainment, gardening, UV and medical market white lighting applications and other professional super bright, ultra compact solution, its products are mainly used in OSRAM electric light semiconductor chip LED.

"LED Engin for OSRAM to provide customers tailored professional lighting solutions opens up new opportunities." Hans-Joachim Schwabe, chief executive of OSRAM's professional lighting (SP) business unit, said, "LED Engin products are suitable for a variety of professional applications and are a good addition to OSRAM's existing product portfolio."."

Professional and industrial applications LED Engin will be integrated into the OSRAM SP business department subordinate part. LED Engin products are mainly used in applications that require strong, compact LED light sources or specially customized LED, such as light restaurants, shops, museums and galleries. In addition, LED Engin not only provides lighting products for the horticultural market, but also provides powerful UV LED for industrial applications (such as printing, curing and dental markets). As far as entertainment is concerned, LED Engin will work together with ClayPaky and ADB to enhance OSRAM's value chain. Both ClayPaky and ADB are OSRAM's specialty brands offering stage lighting, concerts, large-scale events, theatre and television studio lighting.

According to OSRAM's fiscal 2017 second quarter report shows that benefit from the continued strong automotive industry demand, the special lighting (SP) business (including automotive lighting and professional and industrial applications) second quarter revenue over the same period last year than the growth of more than 8%. The profit margin was increased to 16.2% (15.8% in the same period of the previous year) after the adjusted interest tax was depreciated.
