Lumen is equipped with a thermoelectric generator, a ceramic rod, and when it detects a temperature difference, it produces a current. Its working principle is very simple. When you touch the TEG with your finger, the upper and lower ends of it will form a temperature difference, which produces a current to light the light bulb of the flashlight. The designer Ross Zhuravskiy says that the body's temperature is about 98 degrees F (Fahrenheit), and the ambient temperature is about 82 F, which can cause Lumen to produce about 15 mA, 3V current, enough to light Lumen built-in 5mm size CREE LED beads, and light output can reach 3000 mCd. When the temperature difference is greater, the excess energy is stored.

The shell of Lumen has two kinds of materials, one is aluminum and one is titanium, which weighs about 35 grams and 45 grams respectively. In addition to different materials, Lumen is also divided into ordinary and advanced versions. The advanced version is built with a tube of tritium, which can continue to shine for more than 10 years. So, even in the dark room, you can easily find this "little guy" with the help of tritium gas.
