The 3 million 150 thousand euro "Star" mixed research module SSL

According to foreign media reports, the European Commission is currently providing funding for the new inorganic and organic hybrid lighting module research projects. This module is designed for the first use of LED lighting technology in the field of professional lighting and architectural lighting design.

The project was named LASSIE-FP7 (large area solid state smart energy-saving lamps), which aims to help improve the penetration rate of LED in the whole market. The European Commission has provided 3 million 150 thousand euros to the project, and by the Swiss private non-profit institutions and micro Swiss Electronic Technology Center (CSEM) project coordination. The project will be limited to the study of modules, and will not be involved in the finished lamp.

Project expected results include: first to develop producer can be applied to the products of the 600mmx600mm module, is related to the development of technology integration, such as the use of color sensor or integrate LED into the flexible sheet or plastic sheet.

"Bring new devices beyond the existing technology boundary by mixing SSL module, long-life inorganic LED combined with innovative color coating organic dyes, stable and reliable based on the developed will be able to," Dr. Rini CSEM of the LASSIE-FP7 Project Coordinator Rolando Faye said. He also said that the innovation of the project is the integration of different elements, and the materials used will make mass production possible.
