The US government consulted the public to decide the trend of LED street lamp color temperature.

The Gloucester Times reported that the Gloucester government in Massachusetts is currently soliciting public opinion on the new LED street lights.

Local residents can participate in the use of two different LED lights. The development bureau is currently considering the applicability of different lighting fixtures. The government has installed 4 test street lamps, of which two are LED lamps with a warmer color and a color temperature of 3000K, while the other two are LED lamps with color temperature of 4000K.

If the cost of the two kinds of LED lamps is the same, the municipal government may comply with the public's opinion and use the LED lamp with lower color temperature if the Matt Coogan of the municipal district development department and Jim Destino, the chief executive of the municipal government, are the same as the cost of the LED lamps in. The participants included local amateur astronomers.

In 2014, the Gloucester municipal government obtained the ownership of 2800 branch lights from the National Grid, and plans to convert all street lamps into LED street lamps.

The Gloucester municipal government has borrowed $1 million (NT $32 million 420 thousand) for the replacement plan, but hopes to get the green subsidy from the state government and the award from the US Power Grid Corp, which will reduce the total cost to $340 thousand (NT $11 million 20 thousand).
