The cooperation between Fujian and Taiwan developed red phosphor for white LED

Reporters from the Chinese Academy of Sciences Fujian has been informed that the Chen Xueyuan team and the National Taiwan University Liu Ruxi research team, for the first time by using ion exchange method, successfully prepared a new efficient red phosphor for warm white LED.

It is reported that the white LED because of the characteristics of energy-saving, environmental protection and long life to become the next generation of lighting devices. At present, commercial white LED mainly uses the blue chip excited YAG:Ce3+ yellow fluorescent powder, but the emission spectrum of the device in the red component, it is difficult to obtain a low color temperature and high color warm white color index device, limit its application in indoor lighting in general. In order to solve this problem, the need to add red phosphor appropriately in the device, to supplement the red component, and red phosphors with high performance and low cost is still very lacking.

The excitation of red phosphor research team prepared for the blue chip, the luminous efficiency at room temperature reached 98%, better than most of the existing red phosphor, fluorescence and has good thermal stability. At the same time, simple preparation technique developed by ion exchange, at room temperature and pressure can be prepared, the raw material is cheap, so it has good application prospect in the market. It is understood that the study has been published online in the International Journal of natural "communication", and applied for 2 patents China.
