The new standard is to display by truly universal time

If a new display technology specification through the final hurdle, consumers will see clearer images, PC, TV, cable less projector.

Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) is currently evaluating a display draft standard, the new standard will make the display support more color, higher resolution, higher refresh rate, and simplify the connection of computer and LCD, plasma, CRT, rear projection display.

This specification, which is called DisplayPort, can make the high fidelity audio signal share the same cable as the video signal, and the data transmission rate of 4 cables will reach 10.8Gbps. Bill, a member of VESA, says that DisplayPort will improve the image quality, because it supports higher bandwidth, refreshes instead of reloading images. The standard is designed to replace the DVI and VGA interface.

The current PC and other electronic devices mainly use DVI and VGA interface. VESA complained that the VGA interface occupy a lot of space in PC, but not for high definition content and design; the DVI interface supports high-definition television signal, but does not support interactive communication between devices supported by DisplayPort.

ATI, DELL, Genesis Microchip, HP, Molex Incorporated, Nvidia, PHILPS, Samsung, Tyco in May submitted to the DisplayPort specification VESA, I hope it can become the industry standard.

Members of the VESA will evaluate the specification and provide a forum for the enterprise to evaluate in the future. Bill estimates that VESA's assessment of this specification takes 6 months, which means that consumers will be able to see the next year to meet the DisplayPort standard equipment.

Bill said DisplayPort also paved the way for an optional content protection mechanism. This technology is not part of the standard, but manufacturers can add a module to prevent users from viewing illegal content on display devices, which will certainly be popular in Hollywood.

If approved by the VESA, the DisplayPort specification will become the industry standard, but this does not mean that electronic manufacturers will immediately adopt it, because it involves the design of the monitor and the computer connected with it.

Even DELL, HP, Samsung, Philips began production in line with DisplayPort standard equipment now, the majority of consumers have to wait until the DisplayPort specification of equipment in accordance with the next upgrade computer upgrade using it.
