This year's revenue is flat, Longda released Mini LED products promising prospects.

Taiwan LED vertical integration plant Longda yesterday (14) issued a series of Mini LED products, estimated that next year's revenue will account for less than 10%, the future market penetration to fight for two figures; due to the adjustment of product mix and focus on capacity, this year's revenue is flat, but gross margin will improve.

The latest Mini LED (sub millimeter light emitting diode) products and technologies will be unveiled from 29 to 31 at the Touch Taiwan 2018 exhibition held in Taipei Nangang Exhibition Hall, including the thin Mini LED light panels used for panel backlight, Mini RGB LED packages for small spacing display billboards, and the next generation ultra small spacing U. FP (Ultra Fine Pitch) I-Mini RGB display module.

Su Da, chairman and CEO of Longda, said yesterday that the Mini LED product hopes to achieve market penetration of two digits (10% or more) in the future. According to the estimated volume of the display of the existing panel factory, if 5% of them use Longda Mini LED, it may occupy half of the capacity of Longda. Longda Mini LED backlight product has started delivery in the third quarter of this year, mainly related to the application of electronic competition.

In response to the Mini LED shipping target, he said it depends on the reaction of customers to the terminal market. Longda strategy started from the professional market at the top of Pyramid, and gradually extended to the commercial and domestic market. It is expected that more manufacturers will adopt Mini LED next year, including IT products, automotive, aviation, medical applications and so on.

According to Su Zheng's observation, the technical content of Mini LED products is very high, and it is not easy for mainland manufacturers to compete against price. He hopes Longda Mini LED products can grow mildly. This year's total revenue will be less than 5% and next year will be less than 10%.

In addition, Mr. Su pointed out that as the price of lamps and lanterns fell too fast and the profit margins were limited, this year "brake on the brakes" was very intense, and the lamps and lanterns that were originally wanted for delivery were concentrated in the second quarter of this year. It is estimated that the revenue of the third quarter lamps may be reduced by almost half of that in the second quarter, but the backlighting products and other new businesses will grow. Overall revenue is expected to remain unchanged in the third quarter.

In view of this year's business outlook, Su Fengzheng believes that this year, in addition to reducing planned lighting revenues and concentrating production bases and launching new product layouts, the mainland Chuzhou plant capacity will be put into full swing by the end of this year. Taking profits and keeping them equal is actually better than last year.
