Tohoku University Japan and other demonstration DC power supply system, DC drive LCD TV and LED lighting

Northeastern University Graduate School of environmental science and Research Department of NEC, Sumitomo commercial housing and water Togane December 26, 2008 jointly implemented by the solar battery DC Direct storage to lithium ion rechargeable battery, and DC directly to test the power supply of household savings (Figure 1). Demonstrates the direct supply of direct current to LCD TV, indoor LED lighting.

In this demonstration, there are two sets of systems which use different systems to store the solar cells respectively to the 2 li ion rechargeable battery units and to supply the direct current to the device (Figure 2). Thus, a total of 4 systems can be supplied with direct current (Figure 3, 4).

Solar panels, 6 panels for each of the 1 units, set up 12 panels (Figure 5). Unit specifications, the maximum output power of 270W, voltage of 36 ~ 45V. Lithium ion rechargeable battery unit with 4 capacitors 120W and voltage 28V. The battery is equipped with NEC Togane manufacturing to electric bicycles marketed products.

Due to the DC voltage of the solar cell is 36V ~ 45V, so through the DC-DC converter step-down, supply to the 28V lithium ion rechargeable battery (Figure 6). There are two units supplied by the primary voltage of the lithium ion rechargeable battery, each of which is supplied by the voltage of 24V and 12V according to the specification of the device end.

In this demonstration, we provide 4 kinds of electronic products, such as LCD TV, DVD player, indoor LED lighting and outdoor LED lighting. Among them, the LCD TV and DVD player using the 12V voltage supply unit (Figure 7). LCD TV is the original need to use AC adapter for power conversion models, so this does not use the AC adapter instead of direct supply of 12V DC (Figure 8). However, due to the DVD player is usually in the player for AC-DC conversion, so the demonstration using the commercially available DC-AC converter to convert 12V DC to AC power supply. The load power of the unit powered by 12V is about 70W. LCD TV power consumption is 45W, DVD player is about 25W.

Indoor LED lighting directly through the 24V power supply unit (Figure 9). Indoor LED lighting is equipped with more than and 200 LED, but the power consumption is only about 18W.

Outdoor lighting, the use of two direct use of lithium-ion rechargeable battery power unit. Since the outdoor lighting is about 10 100m of the cell, the AC-DC converter is used as a DVD converter to supply the AC (100V). Because of the large load loss of the low voltage DC power supply and the reliability of the outdoor wiring, the utility model is decided to use the outdoor cable.

Northeastern University Graduate Department of Environmental Science Research Institute believes that through the construction of the system in which power can reduce the number of transitions, even if it is cloudy, only a faint power occasion can also be through the lithium-ion rechargeable battery power savings gradually compared with the power system, the current domestic solar system reverse power flow, high energy saving.

This test is a part of the implementation of the global environmental protection and energy saving technology development project, which is a global energy saving technology development project of the global environmental protection of the Ministry of environmental protection. The project will be developed in the future for the recovery of weak energy lithium ion battery unit, scheduled to be built in March 2010 DC power supply experimental teaching building.
