Toshiba Panasonic and MITSUBISHI electric white LED backlight panel

In this year's Display 2005 show on Toshiba Panasonic MITSUBISHI are showing its latest white light-emitting diode (LED) LCD backlight module.

Toshiba Matsushita in the show on its 8 inch panel module for vehicle equipment, the company said the panel uses about 10 white LED, when the input voltage of about 7W can get the brightness of 600nits.

Mitsubishi Co's 12.1 inch panel is equipped with dozens of white LED, screen brightness 400nits, the same company said the device will be mainly used in the field of industry.

As the biggest advantage of LED backlight is to expand the scope of the LCD display, the traditional panel in the low temperature adjustment of its service life will be shortened dramatically, and LED does not exist this problem. Of course, LED is not without shortcomings, its power consumption is often more than the traditional backlight technology 20% - 30%.
