Two quarter global demand for large size LCD panel will exceed 2.4%

ISuppli El Segundo said the second quarter of the overall size of the supply of LCD panels is expected to be higher than the demand of 2.4%, lower than the first quarter of 3.1%, but the difference between the supply and demand in the third quarter will be expanded to the fourth quarter of the year was $6.1%.

The company pointed out that desktop computer monitors and LCD TV market demand increases, as well as the slowdown in the expansion of new capacity expansion of LCD, is the cause of short-term tight supply.

Since the middle of the LCD panel prices stumble endlessly, as manufacturers spend billions of dollars to expand production, but the number of consumers to buy expensive flat TV manufacturers did not expect.

ISuppli and said that the new LCD production capacity in the second half will continue to open, most of which are used as a LCD TV, especially for 30 inch and larger size of the model used. Mainstream laptops and desktop monitors will be tight in the coming quarters.

ISuppli pointed out that 17 inch LCD monitor panel supply tight, resulting in price increases. 15 inch LCD monitor panel is also a small number of cases, but the overall supply and demand tends to balance.

South Korea's Samsung Electronics <005930> and LG.Philips LCD<034220> in the global market share of about 20%. They will be sold to the panel electronics manufacturers, and then by the manufacturers plus chips, software assembled into finished products.

Other important manufacturers include Taiwan's <2409> and China CMO <3009>.
