California lighting technology center and industry partners have developed a kind of energy saving LED parking lights controlled by motion sensors to enhance brightness.
In January 12th, at the University of California, California, the California Lighting Technology Center unveiled a bright LED parking light with a motion sensor (Davis). After two years of development and field testing, the Institute will be installed in the southern part of the parking lot of these lamps.
According to UC Davis, the 50 LED lamps, by Ruud Lighting/BetaLED, the motion sensing technology features, provide strong nighttime visibility, compared with the metal halide lamp was replaced by a 80% reduction in energy consumption.
The two layer motion sensing system improves its security. When an action is found and a higher light wave is activated, the changes in the surrounding environment will remind the people nearby. When there is action in that area, drivers, pedestrians, and security personnel will now have an indicator.
The two tier lighting is also part of the UC Davis smart lighting initiative, and is exported to other users through the LED university. Early users include: University of California at Santa Barbara (UC Santa Barbara); Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (Tianjin Polytechnic University Chinese; Tianjin University of Technology; University of Paris (in China) Notre Dame); the State University of North Carolina (North Carolina State University) and the University of Arkansas (University of Arkansas).

As a part of UC Davis design, California lighting technology center is a research and education center facilities, focusing on the application of energy-saving lighting, through research, development, demonstration, business extends to the lighting technology, but also to expand education and public facilities, manufacturers, end users, architects, designers and government institutions and cooperative relations.
