University of Florida developed 50 LM/w Blu ray OLED

University of Florida recently announced its Blu ray OLED efficiency broke the record. The researchers said the study is expected to produce cheaper, more abundant room lighting products. University of Florida, School of materials and engineering technicians announced the results.

"The quality of light is indeed very advanced," said Franky, a professor at the school of materials and engineering. He is the leader of the project, the other two important members are professor Paul Holloway, assistant professor of Jiangeng Xue.

The team achieved a peak efficiency of 50 lumens per watt, which is a huge step forward for the project. They have an important goal is to achieve 100 lm/W white light efficiency.

Blu ray is an integral part of white light, the brightness of each color of OLED is adjustable, which means that OLED can mix different light to achieve rich color.
