The day before, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE Stock Code: VSH) launched the industry's first CLCC-2 flat ceramic package of high intensity white power SMD LED series. Rugged and high light efficiency VLMW82.. Devices with 20K/W low thermal resistance as well as 9000mcd ~ 18000mcd high power, mainly for thermal applications.
With thin thickness 0.75mm, CLCC-2 flat ceramic package VLMW82..LED can achieve additional current to achieve maximum light output of the driver, while maintaining high service life up to 50000 hours, which makes them in thermal management as the main factors and consider the application of the limited space in an ideal light source.
These new devices are designed for automotive and consumer, and consumer applications and the general application of the backlight and lighting optimization. Vishay CLCC-2 LED is an environmentally friendly alternative to the CCFL display backlight device, which has excellent optical efficiency, long service life and excellent power saving features in a small package (3.3 mm x 3.4 mm). Typical end products include camera flash; retail and window display; emergency lights and signs; handheld devices; automotive dashboards and external lighting devices, such as brake lights and turn signal lights.
These LED using InGaN technology, can provide 35000 MLM typical luminous flux as well as 100mA when the optical efficiency of 40 lm/W. The light intensity of these devices per unit package than IV maximum /IV minimum value is less than 1.6, which has a positive voltage up to 4.3V, the 60 degree half intensity angle.
VLMW82..LED is compatible with IR reflow soldering industry and conforms to CECC 00802 and J-STD-020C specifications. According to the JEDEC LevEL 4 standard pretreatment CLCC-2 flat package lead free (Pb), and comply with the RoHS specification. These devices have been certified by the AEC-Q101 car, with up to 1kV of the ESD withstand voltage, and comply with the JESD22-A114-B specification.
At present, the latest VLMW82.. Series of high intensity white power SMD LED samples have been available. Mass production will be available in July 2008, bulk orders supply cycle for 8 weeks.
