Vishay launches new LED lighting panel with luminous flux up to 2160 lumens

Pennsylvania, MALVERN -- June 17, 2010 -- the day before, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE Stock Code: VSH) announced the launch for road lighting applications and industrial overhead of the new LED lighting panel - VLSL30 and VLSL31, to expand its portfolio of optoelectronic products. The two development kit provides designers with all the materials they need to enable them to speed up the design process with the help of Vishay solid state lighting solutions.

In addition to the 4x6 LED panel, development kit also comprises a reflector and a drive module, provides the basic tools required by the design for the designer, so that developers can focus on fast listed lighting products, with high efficiency, to meet the requirements of environmental protection, long life LED lighting technology.

Vishay provides two panels for the user to choose: VLSL30 panel with white LED cool colors, color temperature range is 5000K ~ 7000K, the luminous flux of 2160 lumens; white LED VLSL31 panel with natural color, color temperature range is 3800K ~ 5000K, the luminous flux of 1900 lumens.

VLSL30 and VLSL31 lighting panel contains 4 strings LED, each string has 6 LED, installed in the single layer PCB slab with copper. The copper substrate on the PCB board can quickly transfer the heat from the LED to expand the working performance and life of the LED, while the reflective white surface can reflect a small amount of incident light. Panel size is 135mmx121mm.

The output power of optional VLSL3-DU drive up to 56W, with a 8 boost constant current regulator channel, each channel can support 6 LED. The driver can supply power for two lamps and lanterns, with reverse polarity protection, closed loop current control, 12VDC input with undervoltage and overvoltage control, and load protection function. The user can program each panel according to the signal from the ambient light sensor. Depending on the level of ambient light, the driver can set the pulse width modulation to one of the four settings of 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25%. The panel also has a RS232 input interface, which can be programmed by the input interface.

Aluminum Alloy mirror can be used to control the lighting mode. If the mirror is not used, the VLSL30 and VLSL31 power modules or lighting panels in each direction of the viewing angle is 120 degrees. If the VLSL-REFL01 mirror is used, the viewing angle can be limited to a range of 55 degrees in one direction.

Panel, driver and mirror is sold separately, or sold as a kit, to simplify the development process. VSL30-LDK uses cold tone white LED, VSL31-LDK uses natural color white LED. Each package offers 1 lighting panels, 5 mirrors and 1 drivers.
