Vishay launches ultra bright surface mount LED

Vishay announced the launch of a bright red, orange and yellow TLMx100x LED, which meets the market demand for ultra small SMD LED based on inp. The device size is 1.6 x 0.8 x 0.6mm, is the smallest size of such devices. The new three devices can be compatible with the industry standard chip level LED (chipled) occupied area, and provides a higher design flexibility in high-performance terminal products. The typical application of the new series of devices including a backlit keyboard; for audio and video equipment, office equipment and battery powered equipment indicator and backlight device; mobile phone display; plane backlight LCD, switches and lights; electrical appliances; medical equipment.

The light intensity of red TLMS1000 (628nm), orange TLMO1000 (605nm) and yellow TLMY1000 (588nm) was 4mcd, 7.5mcd and 7.5mcd, respectively. The light intensity ratio of each packaging unit was less than 1.6. These devices have a wide viewing angle of 160 degrees. The maximum forward current of these three devices is 15mA, the reverse voltage is 12V, ESD withstand voltage up to 1KV.

The 0603 LED is suitable for small power applications that operate reliably in extreme environments. Ultra thin TLMx100x package includes a reliable lead frame substrate embedded in a clear epoxy resin. The device can be compatible with an automatic mounting device and is designed for reflow soldering or lead free (Pb) welding processes. These LED rated operating temperature ranges from 40 to +100 C.
