Weihai issued a "prestige": the new billboard can only be LED.

LED outdoor advertising screens are unstoppable in Weihai. A few days ago, the Rongcheng city of Weihai, Shandong Province issued a document to strengthen the management of the establishment and operation of the column billboards. According to the new regulations, there will be no additional column advertising boards in the urban area. The advertising boards without "quasi birth certificates" must be publicly tender to decide their ownership and dismantle the billboards which affect the urban planning.

The new regulation requires that the outdoor billboards in urban areas should be subtractive and not added in principle, that is to say, they will no longer agree to set up large outdoor column advertising boards, commonly known as "antiaircraft" billboards. In the future, if large outdoor billboards are required for special circumstances, multimedia advertising boards such as LED electronic displays can only be built, and must be examined and approved by the municipal regulatory committee.

The "LED" billboard is more convenient than the traditional "antiaircraft gun" billboard to replace the content, and can instantly release information and security. The staff of the planning and Management Office of the Municipal Bureau of Construction said that the "antiaircraft artillery" billboards are mostly located in the upper air. Changing the contents of advertisements is a laborious and arduous task. When the LED billboards change the contents of advertisements, they only need to replace them on the background operating system, which not only saves effort, but also releases various government documents, emergency information and so on. In addition, the "artillery" billboard is likely to fall due to high position, such as windy weather. If there is a high voltage wire below the billboard, it will be more dangerous and there will be hidden danger to the safety of the public. The LED type billboards are mostly attached to buildings such as walls, with low height and high safety.

In addition to the regulations that no longer add new "artillery" billboards, the new regulation also strengthens the management of the existing outdoor column advertisement boards, and carries out open tenders for the construction and use rights of the "black households" billboards which have passed the validity period or have not been examined and approved. The duration of the use of outdoor column advertisement boards is 5 years. After the expiration, the bidding is required.
