Nikkei News English version of the Japanese government announced that as of 2012, Japan will be a total ban on the use of incandescent lamps. It is reported that the United States, Canada and Australia, has banned the use of incandescent lamps.
Experts predict that the ban will make the use of fluorescent lamps and compact fluorescent lamp greatly increased, and ultimately with the improvement of LED efficiency and cost reduction, increasing the demand for LED lighting.
Although many companies in the lighting industry (for example, general) condemned the ban against the consumer's right to free choice. But, given the fact that global warming is far more important than consumer choice, Japan has issued a ban on the use of fluorescent lamps. It is expected that in the next few years, there will be more government regulations to deal with the global problem of energy consumption and global warming.
