A Morimi's latest LED driver for portable consumer electronics applications

A Morimi (ON Semiconductor) on the semiconductor before the launch of NCP5603 new white LED driver, special high brightness LED to drive the camera, mobile phone and other portable consumer electronic products or in the application of flash flashlight.

The NCP5603 uses a charge pump structure and two external ceramic capacitors to provide power conversion without the use of a bulk energy storage inductor for power conversion. Its DFN-10 package size is only 3mm * 3mm * 0.9mm, with limited surface area, suitable for thin portable consumer electronics applications.

The new LED driver uses a 2.7 V (V) battery voltage to provide a constant voltage to the 5.5V range. Its 1X, 1.5X and 2X automatic mode, the maximum efficiency of up to 90%. Especially suitable for low cost, low power applications to focus on extending the battery life of large current LED. The device output up to 350 MA (mA) pulse current, suitable for driving high brightness 1 watts (W) power of LED, which can improve the performance of the camera flash, get a better picture. The device features also include the PWM/EN input, suitable for dimming requirements.

NCP5603 without external inductance energy storage, it can be used as low cost, small step-up DC-DC converter, providing constant voltage 4.5V or 5V for the first volume of mobile phone, MP3 player, digital camera or audio amplifier bias.
