A Morimi semiconductor new miniature package ESD protection diode

Power management solutions provider A Morimi semiconductor (ON Semiconductor) launched three new ultra small SOD-923 package ESD three diode and Schottky diode. Package size is only 1.0mm * 0.6mm, height of 0.4 mm, impressive performance. These diodes are ideal for portable, consumer electronics and wireless products that require high power efficiency, and are the industry's best ESD protection for the smallest footprint.

A Morimi semiconductor products division general manager Mamoon Rashid said: "our latest package SOD-923 provides better overall performance than competing devices. Previously, the occupied area of 0.084mm2 SOD-723 is the smallest package provided by A Morimi semiconductors for these ESD and devices. It is important to save space in the handheld applications, this new SOD-923 package to reduce the occupied area of 38%, but the performance is not reduced accordingly."

ESD protection diode

ESD9X3.3S, ESD9X5.0S and ESD9X12S is designed to clamp the rapid rise of the ESD pulse, to avoid damaging the plate voltage sensitive element. These devices comply with the IEC61000-4-2 ESD specification and provide the highest degree of ESD protection in the SOD-923 package. They are small in size and easy to place near the input / output ports of the ESD system. Therefore, before the transient voltage is coupled to the rest of the board, the device suppresses it. The ESD9X series is characterized by a smaller clamping voltage and leakage compared with a similar size multilayer varistors.

Schottky barrier diode

NSR0130P, NSR0230P and NSR0140P is designed for high speed switching applications and discrete Schottky barrier diode step-up and step-down conversion. These new Schottky diodes have very low forward voltage (Vf), which reduces the conduction loss, so the energy efficiency is higher than the integrated solution. In the given power management unit (PMU) the voltage is not supplied to create a DC source, the device achieves a real design flexibility and energy saving. In addition, the inherent flexibility of these Schottky diodes help designers to expand product characteristics under a variety of voltage requirements, including cameras, camera flash and LED backlight.
