AMD spokesman Rob Keyosheyan said that things are progressing quite smoothly. Keyosheyan declined to disclose the exact time AMD received the first batch of licensed semiconductor processors, but he said it is expected in the second half of this year. Keyosheyan also said that the first batch of AMD chips from the licensed semiconductor will adopt 90 nanometer production process, rather than the previous part of the media reported that the process of 65 nm. But he also said that with the passage of time, AMD and Chartered Semiconductor will eventually use 65 nanometer process chip production.

Since the end of 2004 the two sides signed a production agreement, Chartered Semiconductor has been preparing for the production of AMD for the 64 bit processor. Previously, the two sides have said that the first chip will be launched in 2006. AMD has its own manufacturing facility, including the newly created Fab 36 in Dresden, germany.
