Atmel Corp (AtmEL) announced on the day before, the launch of a new type of wisdom for backlight lighting and solid-state lighting market string LED driver series, the series of products provided by the optimizer to verify the efficiency (efficiencyoptimizer, EO) technology, flexible dimming options, wide power range adjustment ability, user programmable ability and low cost material list. Atmel said that these LED drives through the EO technology, as far as possible to minimize the actual level of power consumption. This technology allows designers to use any type of isolation, DC/DC or AC/DC converter topology or non isolation type, at the same time through the additional voltage to minimize the LED string, in a dynamic way to maintain the highest system efficiency.
The company further said that the driver will allow the LCD TV, get high 10M:1 dynamic contrast and minimum dynamic fuzzy, and can provide a PWM dimming range is higher than 10000:1 for PC display and display industry. In solid-state lighting applications, the new LED driver IC and micro controller can provide dynamic Mel's white point adjustment, color mixing, and provides network lighting function with Zigbee, DALI and other standards. Other features include comprehensive fault management capabilities, LED aging and thermal control, the ability to use on-chip EEPROM programmability, and the ability to use a minimum of DC to DC converters to provide a wide range of LED strings.
Multi string LED LED driver Mel Aite IC is divided into three types, including for high power LED lighting and side lighting external MOSFET current absorber lighting applications; for direct type backlight illumination and low power LED lighting internal MOSFET current absorber, and for computer displays and industrial, medical, military display integrated power controller.
