Avago launched a durable vehicle RGB color sensor

Avago launched a RGB (red, green and blue) analog output color sensor, automotive electronic devices is in line with the Committee on pressure test specification of integrated circuit AEC-Q100, is an ideal color sensor for car.

ADJD-E622-QR999 RGB color sensor is a monolithic CMOS IC, integrated with RGB color filter and three sets of 3x3 photodiode array, each used in three colors, so as to reduce the interference and the effect of optical aperture imbalance. These photodiode arrays convert red, green, and blue light components into a transimpedance amplifier, which is then converted to an analog voltage. The voltage output of each channel (R, G, and B) is linearly increased with the light intensity, and the gain of each channel can be set separately.

This color sensor uses a non pin QFN-16 (16 Piece square no pin) surface package, the size of 5x5x0.75mm, the height of Avago than the previously introduced analog RGB color sensor is low by 25%. The RGB sensor can be stored in the temperature range of -50 DEG C to 105 DEG C, the operating temperature range of -40 degrees C to 85 degrees C. It is in line with the car lock compatibility standards, HBM (human model) electrostatic discharge (ESD) up to 8kV, MM (machine model) for 200V.

Inside the car, the ADJD-E622-QR999 converts the color light to an accurate, proportional red, green, and blue voltage output. These outputs can be used as navigation panel, instrument panel and internal lighting, such as open and closed loop optical feedback. The ADJD-E622-QR999 ensures that the RGB LED (LED) illumination in the closed-loop optical feedback system is consistent with the color and brightness of the backlight system, such as a liquid crystal display.

The use of color sensors and RGB LED lighting can avoid the limitations of the traditional LED color range is limited. Due to the RGB color sensor with durable packaging, not sensitive to ESD, can be used in a variety of industrial, commercial and test equipment.
