Benq Corp plans to build a LCD TV assembly plant in Czech

Taipei on May 10th news, Taiwan's largest computer peripherals brand Benq Corp decided to set up a LCD TV assembly plant in Czech, the factory began production at the end of this year.

The Czech factory before formal operation, BenQ will be from the existing assembly plant in Hungary to the European market delivery LCD TV. Taiwan has more than 10 leading IT company established a factory in Czech, including Hon Hai, ASUS computer, public computer, Liteon, quanta computer, Datong shares, Inventec Group etc.. Taiwan's total investment in Czech has exceeded $800 million. BenQ chairman Li Kunyao recently said that his company must set up factories in Czech to accelerate the pace, because many European car manufacturers have made plans to build factories in Czech, which is expected to raise labor costs there.

BenQ's top officials have visited a number of European countries since the second half of last year to build a new assembly plant, including Czech, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia and Turkey. Eventually, the company chose to build the factory in Czech. BenQ currently operates factories in Taiwan, Mexico, mainland China, Suzhou, Malaysia. According to industry sources, BenQ decided to choose to build a new factory in Czech, the main reason is to consider the convenience of transportation to Western Europe and a better investment environment.

Czech, Hungary and Poland are considered to be the most attractive investment destinations for foreign investors after the European Union has expanded to some countries in eastern europe. Hungary has the best infrastructure; Poland claims to have the lowest labor costs; Czech has the best legal, tax and economic conditions. In addition, Czech is Germany's neighbors, while Germany is Europe's largest single market.
