Broadcom launched the first 10G EPON chip

Global leading supplier of chip Broadcom announced the launch of the first 10GbpsEPON chip BCM55030. The product is mainly for multi-user environment ONU applications, can also be used for LTE network support network applications. At present, the chip has accepted sample applications, is expected to start production in the 2 quarter of this year.

Braodcom BCM55030 mainly from their acquisition of Teknovus's technology. They claim this is the first 10GEPON chip on the market. Broadcom means that their technology can achieve a better support for synchronous data signals and time sensitive mobile support network signal transmission.
