Recently, located in Hamburg, Germany, Tim Mackerodt designer studio exhibited a OLED lamp called Cap. From the high lighting components solutions and OLED module experts participated in this cooperation project. The project was exhibited at the blickfang boutique international design exhibition in hamburg.
Cap lamps
The Cap lamp is square, and the lamp frame made of injection molding silicon material has a high degree of flexibility and is wrapped around the OLED module with the same equilateral square. Soft material is composed of ultra-thin light source support, so as to protect the inside of the lamp module. The outline of the lamp emphasizes the light and thin structure of the OLED lighting module, which integrates with the cable and the lampshade perfectly.
Cap lamps use a soft tone, and minimize the use of materials, which has a charming appearance. Cap lighting design allows users to easily replace the OLED module. The warm light passes through the silicon structure, so that the light emitting surface presents a spatial sensitivity profile. Cap combines innovative lighting technology with common design elements in a modern style lighting product.
LUREON REM series OLED lighting module
Cap lamp integrates the OLED lighting module from the high LUREON REM series. LUREON REM with ultra-thin design, only 2.5mm, Cap lamps to provide the ideal setting. A warm white light with a color temperature of 2800K makes it an ideal choice to create a relaxed atmosphere. Size of only 145 mm x 145 mm square module selected from the sharp high OLED product portfolio. LUREON REM series provides excellent color rendering performance, CRI over 80, system light efficiency of up to 40 lm/W.
More information about OLED
An organic light emitting diode (OLED) consists of an organic thin layer (200-500 nm) between two electrode layers (anode and cathode). The wide area light source is printed on a glass substrate with a thickness of less than 2 mm. When a voltage is applied, light is generated in the organic thin layer system and is emitted through an electrode layer. Compared with the traditional light source, OLED lighting module can emit a wide range of light with high color rendering quality, so that people feel very comfortable. Another advantage is that the OLED emission of light without glare. This means that OLED does not need to use reflectors to reduce glare. Therefore, the OLED lighting module is one of the most efficient light source.
German designer Tim Mackerodt studio
Tim Mackerodt set up his own studio in 2012, while he was still studying at the Cassell School of art. He studied under Professor Oliver Vogt, Professor Jakob Gebert and Steffen Kehrle. Since 2012, he has been working for some of the professional team, including teilchenbeschleuniger (whose clients include WMF and Hahnem hle) and Benjamin Hubert studio.
Tim Mackerodt with a number of partners at home and abroad, including furniture, lighting industry. The studio integrates advanced technology and materials to design new products.
Tim Mackerodt the completion of the project has been widely exhibited, most notably in the D3 Competition Exhibition (Cologne International Furniture Fair) and visual materials exhibition (Cologne international furniture production, woodworking machinery and interior decoration exhibition). Recently, Tim Mackerodt was invited to participate in the 2012/13 annual blickfang boutique exhibition, exhibited his work.
