Catalyst new portable device with LED driver

Catalyst semiconductor company adds a fractional charge pump LED driver based on its patented Quad-Mode architecture, especially for portable devices. The new CAT3637 focuses on high power efficiency and ease of programming the LED control interface, it is of high efficiency 10% 3 common mode charge pump type LED driver, and has a single EZDim (single programmable interface that allows the user to control the light through the interface of programming and complete the IC interface).

CAT3637 is suitable for each group has 5 or 6 LED channel applications, typical applications include portable products in the large screen backlight drive. The IC simplifies the Catalyst's easy to use single line EZDim interface to support 16 dimming output from 0mA to 30mA, with a resolution of 2mA for brightness adjustment. With a power efficiency of up to 92%, without the need for additional capacitors to provide ultra-thin x 3 3mm TQFN package, the Quad-Mode architecture using CAT3637 can further reduce the space and cost of PCB board for the next generation of portable applications.

In addition to CAT3637, other members of the Catalyst Quad-Mode LED driver family includes CAT3604V four channel LED driver PWM dimming interface, with a single EZDim interface six channel CAT3636 LED driver, CAT3644 driver and four channel LED CAT3643LED three channel LED driver.
