China's LED industry usher in development opportunities

At present, China's LED industry has initially formed the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta, Jiangxi and Fujian, Beijing and Dalian and other four regions, each region has initially formed a relatively complete industrial chain. The Pearl River delta industry is mainly concentrated in Guangzhou (Foshan) and Shenzhen, the most obvious competitive advantage in the field is the market advantage. According to statistics, the current market in Guangdong accounted for 50% of the amount of LED. The Yangtze River Delta is active to Shanghai City, Jiangsu province and Zhejiang in Hangzhou, Ningbo, Fujian province LED industry mainly concentrated in Xiamen, at present, Xiamen already has dozens of LED engaged in chip manufacturing, packaging and application products R & D and production enterprises, of which two of the world's three largest lighting group has been in invest and build factories in Xiamen. Jiangxi province from the upstream epitaxial materials, midstream chip manufacturers to downstream devices to achieve a large-scale production package. Northern regions, including Beijing, Dalian and other research and development advantages, positive force industrialization.

China is currently engaged in more than 400 units in the LED industry, according to the Ministry of science and technology information technology and CCID statistics, the production of up to more than and 160 enterprises, light-emitting diode output growth of more than 50% (see Figure 1). The LED industry has a certain technical and industrial base, the blue chip index reaches the mid-range level of foreign products, LED packaging technology and foreign small gap, has a large share in the international market, there may be a breakthrough in key technologies, the formation of independent intellectual property rights.

According to customs statistics data analysis showed that 2003~2006, LED, China exports increased year by year, export volume and export volume compound annual growth rates were 41.4% and 95.5%, in 2006 reached 33 billion 740 million, only $4 billion 187 million (see Figure 2). At the same time, imports also increased year by year, the annual growth rate of imports and imports amounted to 34.1% and 29%, respectively, in 2006 reached $41 billion 110 million, $3 billion (see Figure 3). LED the export growth rate of import growth rate, to May this year, Chinese LED, total exports of $1 billion 380 million, an increase of 72.5%, while the total imports of $1 billion 310 million, an increase of 14.6%, exports exceeded imports for the first time (see Figure 4).

Chinese is power electronics manufacturing, mobile phone, automotive and other industries is a huge driving force for the development of LED; Chinese population, lack of resources, energy shortage, increase efforts to develop the use of new energy and energy saving technology, is one of the key topics in the future economic development; LED longevity, energy saving and environmental protection, vigorously develop the semiconductor lighting industry at the same time; city lighting, indoor and outdoor decoration demand will continue, will provide a broad market for the development of LED industry, Chinese. Located in the lower reaches of the industrial chain of chip package and lighting industry, is a technology intensive industries, and labor-intensive industries, the mainland has Chinese labor comparative advantage, therefore has the ability to undertake the transfer of the international semiconductor lighting industry, LED industry development opportunities, the front end China.
