China made LED bulb was robbed in North Korea crazy?

According to foreign media reported on July 14th, recently, more and more Korean people rush to buy Chinese made LED bulb. Although the LED bulb is expensive, it is the best choice for a country with serious power shortage, compared with the traditional incandescent lamp, which has high lighting efficiency and energy saving effect of LED. So, in general, Koreans are willing to choose LED bulbs that are expensive but can achieve normal lighting at low voltage.

In November 2013, sources in North Korea said North Korea was so short of power that it could not even meet 70% of its users' needs, forcing people to find alternative energy sources that would be more energy efficient. "Recently, the number of Koreans buying LED bulbs has increased dramatically, and inland businesses are also racing to buy LED bulbs from border cities bordering China," said a North Korean resident who declined to be named."

In February 2014, an official report from North Korea said that lighting equipment manufacturers around the country are generating LED lighting products at full capacity. More and more family lighting and public lighting begin to adopt LED lamps, and LED lamps have been installed in major hotels and buildings. But the report did not say whether the current production schedule adequately meets the demand for new lighting products, and the craze for the Chinese people to buy Chinese made LED bulbs has not declined.

There are sources, LED lights in North Korea's popularity soared because of North Korea's lack of power, can not provide 220V voltage required for the normal work of the general household appliances, but LED lamp can normally under the condition of low voltage lighting. In peak summer use, the average household voltage in North Korea is only 170V, lower to 100V in winter. The incandescent lamp is difficult to provide normal lighting below the 220V voltage, but the LED light is different, and even if the voltage is below 70V, it is still able to be properly illuminated. So even though the price of LED lights is two times higher than that of incandescent bulbs, the Koreans are happy to buy LED lights.

Another advantage of the LED light is its long service life, according to the US Department of energy. High power LED lamp generally can reach 50000 hours life, and life only 2000 hours of incandescent lamp, 15000 hours of fluorescent lamp compared, LED lamp life advantage prominent.

Another source said, in the North Korean market, the incandescent lamp price of about 3 yuan, while the price of LED lamps vary, depending mainly on its shape. For example, the LED bulb, which can be directly turned into the ordinary lamp holder, is priced at over 10 yuan. Now, LED bulbs are popular in North Korea, with at least one in each.
