Cree announces white light power diode to achieve luminous flux of 161 lumens per watt

LED lighting company Cree announced that its white light power diode to achieve 161 lumens per watt luminous flux, the flux of the highest level of industry research and development report.

Cree test shows that, under the color temperature of 4689K, 1mm * 1mm LED can produce 173 lumens of light output, to achieve the light efficiency of 161 lumens per watt. The test was performed at room temperature and driving current of 350mA for standard LED.

Cree founder, director of advanced optoelectronic devices John Edmond, said: Cree continues to invent, commercialize and provide innovative technology LED lighting, aimed at banning inefficient incandescent bulbs. We are in flux and light efficiency advantages from the point of innovation focus, so that the LED lighting technology to meet the lighting application increasing, while saving energy, save money and help protect the environment."

Although this level of performance of the LED is still not mass production, but Cree has delivered millions of more than 100 lumens of lighting level XLamp LED.
