Business is just getting back, due to the huge demand for future LED, Cree announced in early October 2009 will expand its scale factory in North Carolina in the United States, plans to add 575 employees by the end of 2012.
When LED James was asked about the lack of market supply for long-term or short-term problems, James thinks the answer is the former, James said that the lighting market can be divided into general lighting and LED lighting in 2 parts, according to PHILPS (Philips) forecast, 2020 LED lighting will account for all the lighting market in 90%, only 10% of the traditional general lighting market share.
General lighting is developing steadily, rely on innovation and progress to accumulate strength, but began to develop 2 years ago, LED lighting is different, which leads to rapid growth in market demand. LED is also a technical challenge, large-scale companies in this advantage, because easy to drive down costs.
James pointed out that before the LED market supply tends to be stable, the competition between firms will be intensified, which may include malicious bargain, exaggerated advertising, from TV and portable PC backlight industry manipulation of the market. Only able to produce high quality and low price, high reliability of the products of the industry to become the final winner.
