Cree launches LED light bulb with luminous flux exceeding 1300lm

The United States Cree to develop more than 1300 lumens of light flux, light efficiency of 152lm/W high-power white LED bulb, its performance has exceeded the U.S. Department of energy set up in twenty-first Century for the purpose of lamps.

Identified by the third party OnSpex laboratory, the LED bulb luminous flux of more than 1300 lumens, power consumption is only about 8.7 watts, while the luminous color rendering index of 91, warm white color temperature corresponding to 2800K. In contrast, the traditional 75 watt incandescent lamp can produce a luminous flux of 1100 lumens, but the efficiency is only 14.6lm/W, Cree bulb efficiency is far higher than this result.

Cree founder Neal Hunter introduction, 150lm/W's LED lighting will reduce U.S. electricity consumption by 16.5%, back to the level of energy consumption in 1987. Cree this highly efficient LED lighting, on the one hand because of the Cree in the LED type, optical element, drive and power supply, a number of optimization; it also benefited from the U.S. Department of energy related research support, Cree is still with the U.S. Department of energy to carry out a series of cooperation, to promote energy-saving solid-state lighting.

In 2007, the U.S. Department of energy under the energy independence and Security Act, set up a "light tomorrow" lighting lamps in twenty-first Century Grand Prix games belong to the inside of the third act, to encourage new inventions, to replace the inefficient lighting technology is widely used on the market at present. The draft of the lighting competition in twenty-first Century is as follows: the luminous flux is greater than 1200 lumens, the light effect is greater than 150lm/W, the color rendering index is greater than 90, the color temperature is in the range of 2800-3000K.
