DOE issued a report on the old Jinshan Road lights

U.S. Department of energy (DOE) on February 2, 2009 in California, San Francisco, LED street lamp demonstration of the report.

San Francisco LED street lamp is a presentation of many of the DOE presentation report shows the general lighting of high-performance LED products.

The introductory presentation report prepared by the Pacific Gas & Power Company (Pacific Gas & ELectric) and Energy Solutions, outlined the project results, including lighting performance, cost efficiency and energy saving potential.

In the project, LED street lamps mainly from four manufacturers - Beta LED (Beta LED), Relume (Cyclone), Leotek (Leotek) and Relume (company). Four street in Sunset District of San Francisco city are equipped with LED lights, from first to last every street in the installation of 5 street.

Each street is a new type of LED lamps, replaced by 100 watts rated high pressure sodium lamp (each street with different LED features).

The main findings are as follows:

In the assessment of the performance of LED Lamps lighting, although each are not identical, but in each case the energy saving potential is the highest energy reduction, changes in the range of 50%-70%, more than the high pressure sodium system.

These products are generally excellent performance in lighting, but also confirmed that it is more attractive to the economy.

The report pointed out that, in general, this assessment showed the importance of the LED lamp energy saving potential, with the LED lamp energy and lighting performance improvement, energy saving potential is likely to further improve the future.

However, not all of today's products are ready for mass production; some of the products still have limitations in their lighting performance. In addition, price fluctuations (different regions of different prices) will remain a key factor in the balance of lighting performance.

Incentive project development may further encourage the development of LED street lamp. The study recommends that any incentive program, including performance standards, should take into account the product warranty period, performance, light distribution, and other important criteria.
