Diodes launches new LED driver with improved dimmer compatibility

Diodes (DiodesIncorporated) launched LED driver AL1697, suitable for line powered Triac dimmable LED lighting applications. NEMA using new products (NEMA) SSL-6 dimming curve of standard single-stage high power factor dimming circuit, and trigger the leading edge and trailing edge triggering (Leading-edge) (Trailing-edge) Triac dimmer compatible with each other, so as to provide the best linear and load regulation. AL1697 integrates the MOSFET in order to eliminate the auxiliary winding, effectively reduce the cost of peripheral materials and reduce the circuit board area, so that it can drive up to 15W of the LED lamp, attractive and competitive solutions.

AL1697 is an accurate and efficient buck boost LED driver, the topology provides accurate output current, which ensures excellent linearity and load regulation. Component design to support the non isolated lifting pressure operation, to meet the different requirements of different types of lamps on the isolated power supply. AL1697 uses the critical conduction mode, can improve the conversion efficiency, but also reduce the switching noise and simplify the design of electromagnetic interference. It features a low start-up current of 130 A and a low operating current of 170 A.

The AL1697 provides two MOSFET options, including a specification for up to 2A/600V operation with a 4 drain on resistance resistor, as well as a support for 4A/650V operation with a 1.8 super junction (super-junction) on resistance specification. The device has a standard internal protection function, including the output short circuit, over temperature, under voltage lockout, leading edge blanking and cycle by cycle overcurrent protection. In order to improve safety and reliability, it also provides overvoltage / output open circuit as well as thermal protection function.
