DisplaySearch: the next 8 years OLED panel CAGR up to 167%

According to DisplaySearch released the day before the "global flat panel display market investigation" pointed out that in 2007 to 2015 years, for OLED TV and mini computer (Mini-Note PC) of the panel, will become the two largest application products the fastest growth in 8 years, the compound annual growth rate of up to 167% and 74% respectively.

DisplaySearch strategy research vice president pointed out that OLED TV and Mini-Note will be the opportunity for the future development of the flat panel display industry. Last year, the agency alleged that the digital photo frame (Digital picture frame) is the fastest growing star in the flat panel display industry. Although it seems that the development of the future, the future prospects of digital photo frame is still promising, but the development of OLED TV and Mini-Note more quickly.

From the observation of shipments, since the first quarter panel is often demand in the off-season, the first quarter of 2008 the global panel shipments of 881 million 700 thousand, compared with the previous quarter fell 12%, but in Mini-note PC, digital photo frame and handheld navigation device driven by the first quarter shipments grew 15% compared to the same period last year.

The main application of product shipments, the first application is mobile phone panel, flat display panel products accounted for 45.8%, the table type display panel is shipped second, 9.1% market share; and LCD TV and plasma TV panel together accounted for 3.1% of global shipments ratio.

According to the different application of technology shipping area calculation, in the first quarter of 2008, TFT LCD accounted for 88.6% of the world's total shipments, is the most important application technology; PDP is accounted for by OLED, accounting for only of the global shipping area.
