Evident PHILPS nano crystal patent license

The licensing agreement with PHILPS will enable Evident to produce and sell LED lighting products that use semiconductor nanocrystals, which will replace the products that used to be silver colored.

Evident technologies, Inc. is a pilot company based in New York for the development and commercialization of semiconductor nanocrystals. The company has signed a non exclusive license agreement with PHILPS electronics, which will pave the way for the commercialization of LED based Evident technology.

Evident technology intends to issue a new line of low-power LED products and semiconductor nanocrystals with silver powder based on LED technology development of the product.

"LED light extended incandescent lamp life, but also more efficient than incandescent bulbs, but limited to several color monotonous," Evident CEO Clint Ballinger said: "we are very pleased to see the license agreement reached, which is convenient for us to use the technology will be more color to LED lighting products. "

LED chip was originally limited to only monochromatic light. The vast majority of the current white LED lamp with silver powder to the blue LED chip into a "white" or other colors. However, Evident said that the limitations of the silver powder technology can only achieve a limited range of colors, and semiconductor nano crystal technology to break through these limitations.

Founded in 2000, Evident has been studying semiconductor nanocrystal technology for some years, and plans to launch commercial LED products based on this technology at once.

"We have long believed that there is a market for semiconductor nanocrystals, and we look forward to the commercialization of this technology," said Dave Barnes of PHILPS's advanced IP council. "

Dave Duncan operations director Evident technology said: "LED is very urgent fusion of this technology, our new product line LED will take us into the retail market, they will become the first batch of semiconductor nanocrystals based on consumer goods. "
