Fairchild expands its intelligent power module product family

Anal Fairchild company announced the expansion of its intelligent power module (SPM) products series, launched three models using 29mm x 12mm (SMD) model for surface mounted Motion-SPM device package: FSB50325S (250V), FSB50250S (500V) and FSB50450S (500V). The SMD package using Motion-SPM allows designers to achieve the highest level of energy efficiency, compactness and low electromagnetic interference (EMI) performance, so as to meet the needs of small (50-125W) variable frequency motor drive applications such as pump, motor and fan motor for dishwasher. Because these modules are highly integrated features and advanced packaging, it can greatly simplify the design, shorten the time to market and reduce the overall cost of the system.

Each Motion-SPM in the high efficiency package integrates a six MOSFET fast recovery (FRFET) and the three half bridge high voltage IC (HVIC). These integrated components using Fairchild's innovative technology to achieve low loss and low EMI characteristics, help to improve the efficiency and reliability of the application. Motion-SPM will MOSFET as the device's power switch, providing a better system durability and greater security work area (SOA) than IGBT power module or single chip solution.
