Google believes that cooperation with the government will lead to privacy panic, scare away some users.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) also expressed its support for the Google on Friday, saying it was the latest example of the government's "too long hand.".

Google also said it suspected that the government would be able to protect the information that would reveal its trade secrets to competitors.
