Hitachi Wansheng successfully developed new generation aluminum water and fuel cell system

Hitachi Wansheng has developed a new type of fuel cell system (Figure 1), only adding water to generate hydrogen in aluminum, and the use of hydrogen as a fuel for power generation. The utility model is characterized in that the hydrogen can be generated at room temperature by using cheap aluminum and hydrogen, and no catalyst is needed in the production of hydrogen. It can also reuse the waste materials and other aluminum alloy, so as to realize the effective utilization of the resources. Envisaged for the first time there is no power supply to the surrounding mobile phone base stations, such as the use of emergency power supply, and military applications, the future will be about 10W to 100W power of small and medium equipment development. It is reported that the use of 20g aluminum can drive the laptop 4 ~ 5 hours, the required water is about 40mL. In the future, it is expected to achieve the same flux density as the lithium ion rechargeable battery. Japan's Wan Sheng believes that in the future through the development of key technologies, the current size of 160mm * 100mm * 60MM can be reduced to 97mm * 87mm * 31mm. If this can be achieved, it will be able to increase the unit volume flux density to the lithium-ion rechargeable battery 300Wh/L (Figure 4). In addition, as the development of the fuel cell using MEA (membrane electrode), Hitachi Wansheng through the electrode structure optimization, 280mW/cm2 realized the power density.
