Honeywell will expand electronic materials manufacturing in the Asia Pacific Region

Honey Well Company (Honeywell) (New York stock exchange code: HON) today announced that the company of electronic materials business department will enhance manufacturing capacity in the Asia Pacific region, in the production of 300mm physical vapor deposition (PVD) sputtering target. Honeywell is located in South Korea's Jincheon plant will provide customers in this critical area of the world's leading technology for semiconductor production.

Honeywell factories in South Korea to support 200mm (including the existing production capacity for the production of a variety of integrated circuit chip or silicon wafer diameter) for semiconductor manufacturing and material production.

Honeywell electronic materials business department is responsible for the metal business general manager and department head Dmitry Shashkov said: "we are committed to the Asia Pacific customers with the most advanced materials to help meet their needs. We believe that the new plant will develop into a core technology and support center."

Honeywell new 300mm oriented physical gas phase deposition target Asia Pacific manufacturing capabilities will become a reality in the second half of this year, the target is part of the overall efforts of the company's commitment to the Asia Pacific region, the Asia Pacific region to export all over the world more and more chips. Honeywell is located in Spokane, Washington (Spokane) factory is also engaged in the manufacture of 300mm physical vapor deposition target. Leading semiconductor manufacturers more and more use of the larger 300mm wafer, to improve production efficiency, reduce the cost. A physical vapor deposition target is used as a source of metal on the chip. A major shift in the 200mm process to the 300mm process has resulted in the need for new tools and materials.

At the end of 2004, Pudong New Area Zhangjiang High Tech Park in Shanghai Chinese Honeywell officially opened a development center of the Asia Pacific headquarters and technical /. The facilities construction area of over 161500 square feet (15000 square meters), with the development of laboratory and testing center, and full support for Honeywell in the Asian Pacific region (including the Department of electronic materials business department).

Honeywell electronic materials business department vice president and general manager Barry Russell said: "Honeywell electronic materials especially to meet the increasingly complex needs of global semiconductor manufacturers. The production of integrated circuits involves hundreds of processing steps, which are affected by the choice of our customer material. In other materials supplier only when there is a single support specialized technology limited series of products, we are developing solutions to deal with the problem we faced by customers at the same time, the business was carefully designed to make it from the front to the rear (wafer processing) (package) the full realization of the principle and chemical and the metallurgical combination. This approach, coupled with the presence of our local business as well as in North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region, has become the leading supplier of semiconductor materials to our industry."
